1. What is The Unknown Children?
We’re a small Australian boutique making kids streetwear in sizes 1–5. Ethically made, limited runs, shipped from our Sydney warehouse.
2. What makes your clothing different?
Three things: 100% superior cotton (not the thin papery kind), limited-edition runs that don’t come back when they sell out, and a clean unisex aesthetic that pairs with anything. Most of our customers tell us our pieces hold up better than the bigger brands they used to buy.
3. How does your sizing work?
Our sizes are based on age:
- Size 1 = 12–18 months
- Size 2 = 2–3 years
- Size 3 = 3–4 years
- Size 4 = 4–5 years
- Size 5 = 5–6 years
For exact measurements (height, chest, waist), check the full Size Guide. If your little one is between sizes, we recommend going up — they grow fast.
4. Do you ship internationally?
Not yet — we currently only ship within Australia.
5. How fast is shipping?
We pack and dispatch from our Sydney warehouse within 24 hours of your order. Standard delivery is 3–7 business days, express is 1–3 business days.
6. Is there free shipping?
Yes — free standard shipping on all Australian orders over $50.
7. What’s your returns policy?
We accept returns for faulty or incorrectly shipped items only. We don’t accept change-of-mind returns — we’re a small boutique with limited stock and can’t hold inventory for hold-and-return cycles. Please read our Returns Policy and the Size Guide carefully before ordering. If you’re between sizes or unsure, email us first and we’ll help you pick.
8. How are your clothes made?
We work with ethical manufacturing partners in India that we’ve personally vetted. Fair wages, safe workplaces, no shortcuts. Fabrics are 100% superior cotton or, for outerwear, durable polyester.
9. Will you restock sold-out items?
No — we run limited editions deliberately. When a style sells out, it doesn’t come back. If you love something, grab it.
10. How do I find out about new drops?
Sign up for our newsletter (link at the bottom of the homepage — first-order discount included) or follow us on Instagram @theunknownchildrenclothing and TikTok @theunknownchildren. New drops go to email subscribers first.
11. How do I get in touch?

12. Can I collaborate with you or stock The Unknown Children in my store?
Yes — we’re open to wholesale and creator partnerships. Email us at theunknownchildren.au@gmail.com with details and we’ll be in touch.
13. Is your clothing safe for sensitive skin?
Our pieces use natural cotton and no harsh dyes. Most kids with sensitive skin do well in them, but every kid is different — if you have specific concerns, email us and we’ll happily share fabric composition details before you order.
14. What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal, and Afterpay. All checkout is processed securely by Shopify.
15. Do you offer customisation or personalisation?
Not at the moment. Our pieces are designed as limited-edition staples, not bespoke.
16. How do I care for the clothing?
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low, or air-dry where possible to extend the life of the fabric. The care label inside each garment has the full instructions.
